APM LZOS 130mm Triplet APO f/9.2 3.5″ FT
Our latest model, APM LZOS 130mm Triplet APO f/9.2 3.5″ FT, is the answer to those customers who asked a Super Planetary Apo in the 5″ size with an unbeatable optical quality and color correction for extreme powers, useful for planetary observing and resolution. There is no similar quality in the 5″ range on the market. This is our special light weight CNC model for all who plan to use larger CCD cameras for imaging.
These tubes are made in Germany with non-compromising mechanical quality. The dew cap slides smoothly over the tube without producing any paint scratches. The focuser is a full 3.5″ size. It rotates smoothly and with zero image shift. This zero shift rotation is very important when your camera has already achieved its best focus and you would like to rotate it to the best position. The finder bracket has a quick exchange style screw system and is mounted on the rotatable focuser, which allows focuser rotation to bring the finder scope to the most comfortable observing position. The focuser comes with large anodized focuser knobs and moves extremely smoothly when racking. The focuser comes with a screwed on 3.5″/2″ adapter and a 2″/1.25″ clamp ring style adapter to protect your eyepieces and diagonals from scratches. The tube rings are flat on both sides and offer three tapped 1/4-20-inch holes perpendicular to the tube line with the outer two holes’ center to center spacing of 60 mm (2.362″). The center tapped hole can be used for different mounting plates with only a single center hole. The tube’s internal baffles are matched for a large usable photographic field . This system with the matched field flattener for full-format CCD offers an image circle of appropriate size. This TMB 130F/9.24 is not only a wonderful visual apo for highest power planetary and double star observations with highest contrast, but also a superb imaging machine. By adding the matched designed full format fieldflattner / reducer it will offer you pin point stars across the entire field to the outer edges either by use of new larger CCD cameras or medium-format cameras like the Pentax 6 x 7.
About APM Apochromat
APM apochromats are manufactured according to the highest standards and comply with stringent specifications. As a result of these challenging requirements there are several companies based in different countries who are also responsible for this finish. We are proud that we are thus able to bring the world of astronomy a little closer together and are pleased to present here some background information on the elements incorporated in our telescopes.
LZOS
The Russian glass specialist manufactures the high quality lenses and lens mounts for the APM Apochromats. Besides grinding and polishing, this work also includes the sophisticated application of multicoatings by vapor deposition.
