Moonlite High Res Stepper Motor V3
The Moonlite High Res Stepper Motor V3 use a premium, low backlash Hurst stepper motor. This provides very fine ( .00008″ 1/2 step mode, or .00016″ full step mode) resolution and accurate position repeatability required for today’s high end imaging systems. It comes as an option on all single rate model focusers (SCT, Refractor, and Newtonian). It has such a fine variable rate that the reduction unit is not needed, so it is not offered on dual rate focusers. The slip clutch system allows both motor and manual focus control of the focuser at any time.
The Moonlite High Res Stepper Motor V3 has an integrated controller.It works exactly the same as the original Mini V2 controller.
This single port controller works with all ASCOM based software packages out there today such as Focus Max, CCDSoft, MaximDL, SGP, etc. Our 1 ASCOM driver works on both 32 bit and 64 installations, we also provide a Non ASCOM software program for customers that are not running ASCOM based programs and need only a basic program to operate the focuser on a PC. Works great for a simple remote focus solution. The controller has built in temperature sensor as well as a remote temp probe. The controller runs on 12 Volts DC. This controller is designed to be used by a PC or its manual buttons and speed control knob for manual operation at the scope.
