Comments on the iOptron MiniPier 8-inches (8040-8) MiniPier for an HAE29.

The MiniPier arrived suprisingly quickly, in perfect condition. While it came with no instruction, it was easy enough to assemble and install on my iOptron 8061A tripod. I did notice later that there is instruction available at iOptron's web site. This extension raises the telescope high enough that my right angle prisim clears the ripod legs when the telescope is verticle in AZ mode. It is also more comfortable when using eye pieces with my tripod, which is rather short. The MiniPier is very sturdy and, while I have not had it out yet, I expect that it should not make any diffence to the operation of the telescope, even during setup using my iPolar, which is rather sensitive to any flex in the system. The only issue I encounter is that my tripod now no longer fit in my iOptron tripod bag. I gusess I can't wiin them all.
