1.25-inch UV IR-CUT filter

The main function of the UV IR-cut filter is to correct the colour balance of the image. Because colour cameras like MARS-C are extremely sensitive in both infrared and ultraviolet light, you need to use this 1.25-inch UV IR-cut filter to cut off both infrared and ultraviolet light if you want to get pictures of the planets and the moon in true color. When taking solar photography, strong infrared radiation will also affect the image clarity and contrast, so it is also necessary to add UV IR-cut filter too. It can be said that UV IR-CUT filter is one of the most widely used filter in astrophotography.
