PrimaluceLab Losmandy Style Dovetail Plate 915mm PLUS 

The Losmandy style dovetail plate 915mm PLUS is designed to let you install your telescopes on mounts with Losmandy style dovetail clamp. Since this dovetail plate is 915mm long and thickness is 13mm like all our Losmandy style dovetail plates, we suggest to use it with optical tubes up to 40kg in weight.

This 915mm PLUS Losmandy style dovetail plate can be installed in parallel (this requires the PLLSAG925 curved blocks) to the Celestron EdgeHD 9.25" and 11 telescopes with the original Aluminum Dew Shield: this way you can connect ALTO-2 cover motor (by adding the PLLMORVLP clamp) and you can use GIOTTO285 for EdgeHD 9.25" or GIOTTO320 for EdgeHD 11" as a motorized telescope cap and record flats too.

Like all the elements of the PLUS system, this plate is made with high precision mechanics (built with CNC machines from aluminum block) and specially designed to enable you to easily install other mechanical components such as support rings, guide rings or dovetail clamps. Weight: 2.3 kg.

Thanks to the particular design, the Losmandy style dovetail plate 915mm PLUS can be:

  1. positioned below the support rings to install the telescope on mounts with Losmandy plate
  2. installed above the support rings to increase the mechanical rigidity of the entire telescope (and allow you to attach other accessories such as guide rings to precisely adjust the position of the guide telescope).
  3. in parallel (this requires the PLLSAG925 curved blocks) to the Celestron EdgeHD 9.25" and 11" telescopes with the original Aluminum Dew Shield: this way you can connect ALTO-2 cover motor (by adding the PLLMORVLP clamp) and you can use GIOTTO285 for EdgeHD 9.25" or GIOTTO320 for EdgeHD 11" as a motorized telescope cap and record flats too.

If you have other brands mechanical accessories, you can still use all the elements of the PLUS system. Indeed we have provided a series of central slots that allow, for example, to fix on this plate support or guide rings through a screw.

Just what was needed!

If you own an automated flat panel cover with motor, you need this. I can finally use my dew shield with my flat panel cover and motor with my Edge HD 9.25" and 11 and my Meade 10" to automate my shooting sessions.

If you own an Eagle, an Alto and a Giotto, these last 2 get in the way of the Eagle's eye when mounted on top of the OTA. I had to install this dovetail under the OTA with the Alto and Giotto under as well, so that the Eagle has an un-obstructed view of the sky.

The only drawback of the dovetail is that the smooth side of the dovetail bar should also have the long grooves for fastening to the OTA. Actually, the smooth side (where there are no holes) is what should go under the OTA and onto the mount saddle.
