Askar Colour Magic C1 & C2 Duo-Band Filter

Colour Magic C1 Duo-band filter (Hα+OIII) has a high transmittance of over 90% at its center wavelength (500.7nm and 656.6nm). It can effectively improve the quality of the image by making the sky background of the image darker while maximizing the contrast throughout the image， enhancing the contrast of your pictures, and making it easier to display the details of the stars. In areas with very serious light pollution, this filter can also selectively filter light pollution and cluttered signals through the emission lights of the nebula to achieve the ideal shooting effect

When shooting deep-sky galaxies with color cameras, a duo-band filter in the Hα +OⅢ bands is often used; whereas with a mono camera, a narrowband filter in the Hα, SⅡ, and OⅢ bands is often used, leaving users with color cameras missing one band of nebula detail. This can be compensated by using the Colour Magic C Duo-band filter (SⅡ+OIII) mentioned above.

Colour Magic C2 Duo-band filter (SII+OIII) has a high transmittance of over 90% at its center wavelength (500.7nm and 672nm). It can effectively improve the quality of the image by making the sky background of the image darker while maximizing the contrast throughout the image， enhancing the contrast of your pictures, and making it easier to display the details of the stars. In areas with very serious light pollution, this filter can also selectively filter light pollution and cluttered signals through the emission lights of the nebula to achieve the ideal shooting effect.

Using the Colour Magic 2” C duo-band filter package can effectively improve the contrast of the image, making it easier to bring out the detailed features of objects that would otherwise be difficult to capture. It'll be able to take high-quality deep-sky images even in areas affected by urban light pollution and other light sources.

We name the Hα+OⅢ Duo-band filter “C1”, and the SⅡ+OⅢ as “C2”, so their combination is the Colour Magic C 2" Duo-band filter package. It enables color camera users to shoot without the mono camera and H/S/O narrowband filter, providing more fun of astrophotography.

SHO a little color

This filter totally changed up my capturing. The ability to produce good quality SHO images using a colour camera has really revolutionized my imaging sessions. Fantastic boxing and a flashy storage case were appeasing to see upon opening my treasure box from Astronomy Plus, the filter itself is well made and has some nice lettering on the body & was easy to install into my 2 inch filter drawer,
The first image that came back was confirmation of a great purchase. I would endorse this product to anyone interested in producing quality SHO or HOO images not only for its ability to filter fine detail but also in having a wavelength just wide enough to be operable at faster F ratios. I use a F3.9 and an F4.4 & it was just a perfect match.
