Meade has designed the Ultra-High Definition (UHD) waterproof eyepiece to provide sharp and beautiful views during observations by utilizing a wide field of view with pinpoint edge-of-field sharpness and premium-grade, exotic optical glass to produce excellent image correction and brightness. UHD eyepieces deliver a 40% improvement in chromatic aberration and edge distortion corrections over traditional Plossl eyepieces.

The Meade UHD eyepiece with blackened edges to enhance the contrast of the image while reducing reflections. Additionally, the 1.25" eyepiece is equipped with a parfocal design which gives little-to-no focus change when eyepieces are switched out.

This Series 5000 UHD eyepiece has a very generous eye relief of 29mm for comfortable viewing sessions. Rubber eye cups are also included to further keep comfort in mind.

UHD eyepieces comes in an anodized black body with red accents. Includes is a black anodized 1.25" barrel that is threaded to accept 1.25" filters. The body also includes a rubber grip to reduce the chance of dropping the eyepiece during installation and removal.T he body of the UHD eyepiece is waterproof so it can be used despite fog and outdoor atmospheric elements.
