Losmandy "D" size heavy-duty dovetail support plate and radius blocks for Celestron C-14 optical tube assembly. This dovetail is 1.5″ thick (twice as thick as the standard) and many times stiffer, yet weighs only 6 pounds.

The Losmandy-style dovetail that has become the standard for attaching Schmidt-Cassegrain optical tube assemblies to German equatorial mounts, was originally designed as an accessory mounting device, and was not intended to carry the full weight of a telescope the size of the C-14.
